To:  NI Assembly

"I am pretty repulsed by gay and lesbianism. I think it is wrong. That doesn't mean to say that I hate them - I mean, I hate what they do"
"I think that those people harm themselves and - without caring about it - harm society.
"That doesn't mean to say that I hate them. I mean, I hate what they do."
Ian Paisley Jnr, junior minister for Northern Irish Assembly, May 2007

Northern Ireland appears to be finally pulling itself together and moving into the 21st century after far too long. The dolls appear to be staying in the pram for our so called politicians and our new political stability should allow us, as a collective society, to continue to benefit from investment and reconciliation of our supposed differences.

However, do we really want to live in a society where our politicians are only willing to move forward on issues which benefit the lining of their own pockets, rather than focusing on basic human rights and freedoms?

The above statement by the very son of who was perhaps the biggest hindrance to our peace process, shows just how far we have to go and just how strongly we will need to exercise our newly appointed voice in our newly appointed democratic assembly. We need to set the tone now before it is too late.

Start by using your voice now and sign the peticion to say NO to Ian Paisley Junior, and NO to unprofessional, embarrassing and damaging politicians in our country.

Letīs move forward and not allow years of hatred and violence to breed even more. This is NOT about religion, this is about policy and treatment of all of our citizens.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
