To:  United States Secretary of the Treasury

Please sign this petition urging Citigroup to void their naming rights deal with the New York Mets.

Two congressmen plan to meet this week with the United States Secretary of the Treasury in Washington, DC urging Citigroup to back out of their naming rights offer with the NY Mets. This agreement pays the Mets $400 million dollars over a twenty year span to name their new stadium Citi Field.

Citigroup has recently received $45 billion dollars from the Government through the bailout, but has since continued to use company aircrafts, spend on posh vacations and hand out millions for employee bonuses. This on the coat tails of a layoff where over 20,000 employees lost their jobs. As of now, projections show Citigroup will lay off more than 50,000 employees by the end of its fiscal year.

We are looking for over 500 signatures for this petition. Once completed, it will be sent via certified mail to Congressmen Dennis Kucinich and Ted Poe, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, seven Citigroup Board of Director Members, and New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
