Petition to keep the age to purchase alcohol in supermarkets and off licenses at current age of 18 |
To: Scottish GovernmentWe, the undersigned wish to keep the age to buy alcohol in supermarkets and off licenses in Scotland at the current age of 18, instead of raising it to 21. What about the vast majority of people who use alcohol responsibly? We do not wish to be persecuted for wanting to enjoy a drink. What about people who wish to go home at the end of the day and enjoy a quiet drink in the house? This will no longer be possible should the government raise the age to 21. We will now have to go to a pub. We feel this is nothing more than punishment toward the vast majority of people who use alcohol in a responsible way.
Sincerely,
