Bring Back Nonhumans

We believe that it is morally indefensible to discriminate against nonhumans simply on the basis of their species.

Given that the presence of nonhuman accounts contributes to the vitality of online communities like Facebook, and

Given that the presence of nonhuman accounts helps to promote interspecies understanding and consideration, and

Given that the equal opportunity for expression is crucial to thriving communities like Facebook, and

Given that the presence of nonhuman accounts does nothing to harm such communities,

We believe that it is wrong for Facebook to discriminate against individuals on the basis of arbitrary characteristics, such as race, sex, colour, size, and species, and Facebook should allow individuals to hold accounts, regardless of their arbitrary characteristics, and Facebook should reinstate accounts that have already been deactivated for being nonhuman.
