Northumberland County has proposed that Off Road Motorcycles be restricted to the main east-west and north-south forest access roads in the Northumberland Forest near Cobourg Ontario, Canada.

The Northumberland Trail Riders (NTR) have developed, with permission granted in 1997 by county council, a network of recreational multi-use trails that are well engineered and pose no proven environmental or ecological concerns. The trails are situated in the Oak Ridges Morraine and were deemed legally allowable according to an opinion from a lawyer contracted by the county.

The Ontario Federation of Trail Riders and the Northumberland Trail Riders are working to preserve your right to ride in this forest.

By signing this petition, you are stating that you disagree with the proposed trail closures in Northumbermand Forest and you are requesting that Northumberland County enter into a stewardship agreement with the NTR/OFTR to manage all of the existing trails in this forest and to preserve the investment made, in good faith, by the off road motorcylists in this public forest.
