PETITION TO Mr VACLAV KLAUS, President of the Czech Republic

To:  President Vaclav Klaus

Mr President,
The Lisbon Treaty cannot get enforceable if you refuse to sign the ratification that has been voted by the Czech Parliament.
• How can you refuse to sign a treaty that has been accepted by the deputies of your people? Is it your view of democracy?
• How can you refuse to give Europe the institutions it needs to make decisions with 27 members ?
• How can you oppose the will of 27 nations – Czech Republic included, as the Czech Parliament has accepted the Treaty!
We, as European citizen, pray you urgently to sign, and give the European Union the institutions it requires to make valid and effective decisions. Europe is the largest economical power in the World, but Europeans cannot oppose any valid decision to China, India, Brasil, Russia, USA, and all the emerging giant nations which are now competing with us.
If you refuse to sign,
• How shall we resist unfair competition from Chinese workers that have no social rights ?
• How shall we resist Russia which can decide any time to stop gas supplies to Europe – and particularly nations from the former Soviet Group ?
• How shall we be able to face the risk of being stifled by the US debt through a collapsing dollar ?
• How shall we build the world of tomorrow if we stay in our small individual European countries ?
Mr President, do not stay in History as the one who has killed the European hope!
