Legacy Scholarship Program at Oklahoma State University

Dear Oklahoma State University International Alumni,

Professor Emeritus Alan Brunken (Architecture) is chairing a taskforce to revive the Legacy Scholarship Program at Oklahoma State University. Legacy Scholarship Program to benefit children/grandchildren of OSU alumni in which they will pay In-State (State of Oklahoma) tuition when they attend OSU.

Here, OSUMAS (Oklahoma State University Malaysia Alumni Society) would like to appeal to all OSU alumni living in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, India, Taiwan or other countries to vote/sign a petition to revive the program. In the past, there were students from Indonesia whom they benefited from the program.

Professor Brunken said his taskforce will list all the critical factors that would affect their decision making process in making that choice. In the list of factors, OSUMAS could list the top 2 or 3 factors that would have the greatest affect on their choice (you may add your comments in the petition). The taskforce would particularly like to know if cost is a factor. If it is a factor how important is it and would it be the deciding factor in determining if their child will attend OSU.

He also added in his e-mail to OSUMAS, "The work of the taskforce is proceeding at a good pace. If I could receive e-mail/response from OSUMAS members soon, it would generate a strong impact on the outcome of our work and our presentations to the President, Vice-Presidents and various members of the University administration. I can say that the taskforce's initial analysis of the viability of a Legacy Scholarship Program looks very promising. We have not yet, however, finalized our report and begun to make our presentations to the 'decision makers'. This International Relations Committee Taskforce is under the auspices of the OSU Emeriti Association."
