WHEREAS - Hineygate is an Ohio State football institution, enjoyed by many for decades,

WHEREAS - This tradition spans across age groups and demographics,

WHEREAS - For pre-game destinations, this event stands alone as the most identifiable venue for gather before and after Ohio State football games,

WHEREAS - The Danger Brothers have become as synonymous with Ohio State Football as The Best Damn Band in the Land,

WHEREAS – Local food establishment Schmidt’s Sausage Haus have been providing filling and satiating tailgate meals for a nominal price,

WHEREAS - The parking lot that sits in front of the Holiday Inn on Lane Ave serves as a beloved location for Buckeye fans without tickets to join other Buckeye fans in a similar situation to enjoy the action in Ohio Stadium,

WHEREAS - Numerous articles and books have included and been written about this must-see phenomenon in college football

BE IT RESOLVED THAT - With the apparent purchase of the Holiday Inn on Lane Ave by The Ohio State University's community development arm, Campus Partners, Inc, we, the Buckeye Nation, stand together in support and for the continuity of HINEYGATE, in its current form and function, a much beloved institution associated with home football games for The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
