We the people of Ohio hereby petition the Ohio General Assembly to amend the Ohio Revised Code 2953.31 regarding the sealing of records for first time OVI offenders. Currently the Ohio Revised Code considers the first time OVI offender as an automatic second offense thereby automatically excluding the possibility of Expungement. First time OVI offenders should be given a second chance by having their public record sealed after 3 years after the final conviction if and only if they have NO PRIORS. Second time offenders will not be given the oportunity for expungement.
