I am Jewish and I am ashamed of Israel's military tactics in Gaza.

I understand that the vast majority of casualties are not terrorists or Hamas political agents but are instead our Muslim brothers and daughters most of whom wish to live in a peaceful land where their civil and religious liberties are respected.

Israel's purpose was to create a country where the religous views of a people would be respected and where those people would find a home in the wake of hundreds of years of oppression and a recent holocaust. Today I look at Gaza and see Israel not as a beacon for religous understanding but instead as a country currently engaged in a war that is creating more enemies and less understanding between the Jewish and Muslim faith.

To our Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza we wish you peace and the hope of a future where we can share laughter and love together as a people with a common goal. The goal of raising a family with the proper resources to eat, teach, and earn an income with dignity without the threat of violence.
