We are a group of community members who feel the urgent need for the European Community to enact regulations for the protection of domestic animals within the European Community.

Currently, the situation exceeds any attempt, based only on the goodwill of citizens, to take care of abandoned or maltreated cats and dogs. The entire Community needs to confront the necessity of Spayed/Neutered, vaccination and de fleaing, however, overall we have to endeavour to legally fine all maltreat and abuse suffered by domestic animals. This problem does not only concern animals, as the lack of the aforementioned, has a direct negative affect on individuals health and safety. The European Community should therefore enact regulations urgently and demand all state members to enforce these legally.

To synthesis, the main points of our PETITION are:

1. Request to enact regulations on a Community level of protection towards domestic animals with immediate affect throughout all the European territory.

2. Request to enact regulations on a Community level that contemplates animal vaccinations, de-fleaing and Sprayed/Neutered, requiring for every state member to fit out free or low cost health centres in order to attend animal health care.

3. Regulate within the European Community the need to establish awareness campaigns within the population concerning the necessity of the protection/health of domestic animals. Each National Government will initiate campaigns within their territory in cooperation with the media, and with Educational Institutions across the board.

4. Demand that the authorities of each country within the European Community abide and adhere to the established laws, including the enforcement of microchips in order to avoid desertion, maltreat, kidnap and theft of domestic animals.

De nuestra consideraciуn,

Somos un grupo de ciudadanos comunitarios que sentimos la urgente necesidad de que la Comunidad Europea resuelva dictar normas para la Protecciуn de los Animales de Compaснa dentro del espacio comunitario.

En estos momentos la realidad sobrepasa cualquier intento fundado sуlo en la buena voluntad de los ciudadanos- de ocuparse de los perros y gatos abandonados o maltratados. La Comunidad en su conjunto necesita enfrentar el problema de la necesidad de la castraciуn, vacunaciуn y desparasitaciуn, pero sobre todo debe procurar sancionar efectivamente todo maltrato o abuso cometido sobre dichos animales. Este problema no es sуlo de los animales, es un problema del que debe tomar conciencia toda la poblaciуn ya que es un tema de seguridad y sanidad para los individuos. La Comunidad Europea debe dictar normas generales de protecciуn para los animales de compaснa y exigir a cada estado miembro su efectiva aplicaciуn en forma prioritaria y urgente.

En sнntesis, los principales puntos de nuestra PETICION son:

1. Solicitar el dictado de normas a nivel Comunitario de protecciуn hacia los animales de compaснa de aplicaciуn directa dentro de todo el territorio de la Comunidad.

2. Solicitar el dictado de normas a nivel Comunitario que contemplen dentro de la protecciуn de los animales la castraciуn, vacunaciуn y desparasitaciуn de los mismos, exigiendo de cada estado miembro habilitar centros de sanidad de bajo costo o gratuito para la atenciуn de estos animales.

3. Reglamentar desde la Comunidad el establecimiento de campaсas masivas de Educaciуn de la Poblaciуn para la concientizaciуn acerca de las necesidades de protecciуn y sanidad en los animales. Campaсas que cada gobierno nacional deberб poner en marcha en su territorio con la colaboraciуn de los medios masivos de comunicaciуn y de las instituciones educativas en todos los niveles.

4. Exigir que la Policнa de cada gobierno nacional dentro de la Comuniantenere la salute degli animali.
3. Regolarizzare fra la Comunitа Europea campagne preventive concernenti la protezione e salute degli animali domestici. La crezione in ogni governo di ogni Nazione di campagne dentro il territorio in collaborazione con la stampa e con le Istituzioni di Educazione.
4. Richiesta per le autoritа di ogni Stato membro della Comunitа Europea del supporto e delladesione alle leggi disposte, includendo luso del microchip per evitare labbandono, il maltrattamento, il sequestro ed il furto degli animali domestici.
