Protect Spending on American Education

To:  President Barack Obama

Dear President-elect Obama,

As parents who value our children's education, we are deeply concerned about the possibility that a recession will result in decreased spending on public education. Our children represent the future of our country and education spending should be given top priority.

With this is mind, we ask that you do everything in your power to ensure that education spending is not reduced in the next fiscal year or any year of your presidency. As your administration considers how to spend the $700 billion in TARP resources, please consider allocating a portion of those funds to public education.
