Allowing Dogs on Restaurant Patios

Fellow Dog Lovers,

Despite the longstanding tradition of patio-style "doggy dining" in the Downtown Orlando area, Health Officials have begun to crack down on establishments that provide such accommodations. The possibility of a $5,000 fine has forced local businesses to rollup the welcome mat for dogs.

Lake Eola is nationally recognized as a dog friendly park, as are many of the surrounding bars, cafes, and restaurants. My restaurant is included on this list. Sam Snead's Downtown. Many cities have removed restrictions placed on restaurants giving them the freedom to provide service for dogs on their patios. I would like to see Orlando move in this direction.
