I am opposed to the Pigford II settlement that is rife with fraud and and hurts legitimate farmers.

The Pigford settlement was intended to help black farmers who had faced discrimination from the USDA but has turned into a massive fraud scheme. Farmers that had legitimate cases watched in disbelief as their settlement was hijacked by lawyers, politicians and opportunists. As documented on websites like BigGovernment.com, these parasites saw a way to profit by opening the settlement to tens of thousands of people who claim to have 'attempted to farm' with practically no proof required.

This resulted in a complete perversion of justice -- thousands of people who never farmed a day in the their lives have collected $50,000 checks and thousands more are poised to collect unless the funding for Pigford II is stopped.

While I am in favor of real farmers who were discriminated against getting justice, I support investigation and legislation to stop this fraudulent settlement from going forward.
