Stop prejudice against Pit Bulls, and Pit Bull mixes.


All over the U. S Shelters are destroying good dogs on the sole biases of them being Pit Bulls, or having Pit Bull blood in them. I feel as a Pit Bull owner, and friend to many other Pit Bulls that this is an outrage. The U. S is under the mistaken impression that Pit Bulls are dangerous animals. This impression is from the many dogs that are used in dog fights, and the many that are abused, and are made mean by humans. This paints a very bleak future for the wonderful, and very loving animal. We must stop the shelters from killing these fine dogs, and get them to adopt them out instead, get more education about them to people, and better handling of the animals that have been abused, or trained for fights; then just putting them down.


By signing this petition you are saying that you are tired of all the senseless killing of the Pit Bull breed only because of their breed. That you want training programs for the abused dogs, and for the ones that are trained to fight. That you want to see these animals adopted to decent families instead of murdered by the shelters. That people should be educated that Pit Bulls are not born mean, they are made that way by ill treatment, and that the people who fight these dogs should be the ones who are punished instead of the innocent dogs.


Why put these beautiful, and great dogs down. If the dogs that have been abused, or trained to fight are re-trained they will make a most loving, gentle, and very loyal companion for a family. They are very protective of their families, and will die to keep them safe. We need to save them from the cruelty that have befallen them. We need to tell the ones that are in charge that we need stiffer fines for the humans that train the dogs to fight, and to save the ones that have been trained that way. That we don’t want them killed in shelters when their owners don’t show up for them. That they should have the same right to be adopted as any other breed of dog. That they should be re-trained, and taught the right way of life, and given the chance that we all deserve. That we want more programs to teach people about this breed of dog.



The fact that they don’t want you to know is that any dog can be made mean, and dangerous by ill treatment: even the docile little Yorkies; and visa versa. A Pit Bull can be made into a great family dog by loving treatment. Please help me to save this breed.
