We, the undersigned, are passionate about Porsches and driving them as they are meant to be driven. Specifically, many of us own Porsche Caymans and drive them in drivers education events sponsored by Porsche Clubs at road courses around the country. We do this for the joy and thrill of high performance driving in the safest possible environment and we take great pride in driving our Porsches cars that are supposed to be designed and engineered to be among the best performing sports cars in the world. Unfortunately, many of us have experienced an oil ingestion issue with our Cayman engines. While we are driving fast and cornering hard, we are not driving beyond the performance range of a Porsche Cayman and are not racing our cars. Nevertheless, many of us have experienced heavy smoke emissions both on the track and at initial start up after the car sits after driving sessions. We are concerned not only about the oil ingestion into the combustion chamber which is causing smoke, but also the possibility of this issue causing hydro-lock and engine damage or failure. Some drivers, after much preparation and expense for track days, have been black flagged by track officials and have not been allowed to continue to drive. And perhaps even more unfortunately, the clouds of smoke emitted by our Caymans can impair the vision of those driving behind us. Even for those of us that do not track our cars, we fear that if Porsche does not address this problem, the Caymans (and Porsche's) reputation as an amazing sports car will deteriorate as more and more people learn of this weakness in Caymans. Again, we are truly passionate about our Porsche cars and enjoy immeasurably the sport of driving. We implore you to find and implement a solution to this problem. Very respectfully submitted, your customers.
