To:  U.S.Government Agencies

As Companion Guardians and Caregivers, we feel that the statements listed below should be enforced,to protect our precious companions:

1. We should have the right to expect all professionals that provide treatment to our companions, to treat them with respect and humanity.

2. We should have the right to hold all professionals accountable for any inhumane treatment to our companions in a court of law and that these companions be recognized as “a member of the family” not property.

3. We should have the right for any recommended drug for our companion be fully discussed with us prior to the administration and for a “detailed consent form” be provided for our execution, in the event we agree.

4. We should have the right that our companions receive emergency treatment, by the professional that has been treating them, or an associate - as long as it is a matter of life or death in the Guardians/Caretakers view.

5. We should have the right to expect any professional in the business of treating animals perform their own research prior to recommending any drug and not rely upon the manufacturers and/or their sales representatives for that information.

6. We should have the right that any said professional - have an open mind and listen to what we (their client) are telling them, since as caregivers we know the companions behavior.

7. We should have the right that these professionals respect the FDA and their standards, that the professionals responsibilities to us, the Consumer, Guardian/Caregivers of our pets be fulfilled. To therefore, assist the FDA by providing them with prompt and accurate information, along with follow-up reports that are required, in order that the FDA may investigate any drug that they have approved.

8. We should have the right to have the ability to acquire current statistics on any drug(s) approved by the FDA and that information be accessible via the Internet efficiently, effectively and be accurate.

9. We should have the right to expect details and the truth regarding a drug’s safety and efficacy, directly from drug manufacturers and FDA. That we have a right to expect there to be an antidote and/or treatment for a drug before it’s approval.

10. We should have the right, should it be proven that any professional or organization dealing with the treatment of a companion, intended to deceive a Guardian/Caregiver while possessing the knowledge that a treatment or antidote existed, willingly elected to withhold that information, be held accountable in a court of law, which would include any and all suffering encountered by the Guardian/Caregiver as well as all costs and related expenses incurred in order to try to save their beloved companion.

11. That we should have the right to expect professionals to live up to their oaths and all organizations live up to the standard of their Mission.

Remember, our companions cannot speak for themselves,
We must speak for them!

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
