Special Edition release of PURPLE RAIN on DVD

This petition is directed to Warner Bros. Inc - DVD Home Video for the Special Edition(SE) release of PRINCE's debut movie PURPLE RAIN.

This request includes but is not limited to the remastering of the film's original transfer in its correct 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio; mastering of the movie's original soundtrack to true 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound, the restoration and inclusion of all deleted scenes, possible documentary of the making of PURPLE RAIN, an invitation to PRINCE to provide audio commentary and/or interview material for inclusion on such a SE release, the film's theatrical trailer and any TV/radio/poster advert material that may be in the Warner Bros. archives.

The current Region 1 DVD title of PURPLE RAIN is 'pan & scan' only, with an unmastered 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack, an appalling dark and grainy transfer and the film's trailer as the only extra.

As a benefit to fans of this great movie - both in America and the rest of world - please consider the release of this great movie with the care and attention it deserves as being the definitive 'concert movie'.
