Stop MTA from Shutting Bus Services

To:  Q26 Bus Commuters

As many of you know, the Q26 will be completely eliminated very soon under the current MTA budget cuts.

Not only is it bad news for commuters and students at St. Francis Prep High School who rely heavily on the Q26 bus. If you're a homeowner in this area, beware that your property values may decrease due to lack of accessible public transit. Potential renters and buyers may be discouraged from renting or buying your homes in the area for the same reason.

I am in support of re-routing the Q27 to 58th Ave & Francis Lewis Blvd, and then letting the Q27 bus route back up to 47th Ave & Francis Lewis Blvd.

Please sign this petition. Let the MTA and the local politicians know how many people are affected by the elimination of the Q26 bus line, and how many people want the Q27 bus to be re-routed to our area.

The MTA should re-route the Q27 to 58th Ave & Francis Lewis Blvd to make the community members whole.

I have written to local politicians such as Councilman John Liu who is also the Chairperson on the NYC Council Transportation Committee, State Assemblyman Mark Weprin, Senator Padavan and Congressman Anthony Weiner.

In addition, you should write/fax/call these local politicians listed below who represent the Fresh Meadows district (John Liu is the exception, but he is the Chairperson on the NYC Council Transportation Committee). Let them know the MTA CANNOT shut out the people in this neighborhood.
