To:  Republican Party

To the United States Republican Party,

We, the American People, as free citizens of the world, have recognized your disregard for the law, contempt for the truth, and overall negligence.

Recent comments by your spokesperson Rush Limbaugh, saying "I want Obama to fail", and echoing sentiments by Anne Coulter, Bobby Jindall, and Michael Steele, have shown us the true color of your character.

While you have preached that you had the best intentions for America at heart, it's clear that you were a false prophet, caring less about the souls saved, and more about the pennies plundered.

All we can say is this: How dare you! For the past eight years, the United States has suffered, languished, and been tossed around like a sex doll at a truck stop, because you, that’s right, YOU, gave us a mere dog and pony show about how America wasn’t safe, how you had the best interests of the country at heart, when in reality, all you cared about was Your gang, Your side, Your dirty tricks, and to make sure you won.

How dare you all! The facts are in, and the fix is now out. The truth is, you cared nothing for the United States. You cared nothing for any of the traditions and the pillars, values, and institutions that held this country up. All you cared about was your own selfish insecurities.

You didn’t lose your way, you got everything you wanted, but then you didn’t know what to do with it. You ignored your responsibilities. You ignored the laws. You ignored every value that made this country great.

When Progressives said that George W. Bush would destroy this country, you laughed it off, saying we were melodramatic. You said we were a bunch of whiners. You said we were like Chicken Little screaming that the sky was falling. And now, we are in the middle of two wars, our economy is on the brink of collapse, and we’ve lost the city of New Orleans. Well, I hate to say it, but we told you so.

If you rank presidents purely on the basis of the number of cities lost, Bush is the worst, tied with James Madison, when Washington DC was burnt to the ground in the war of 1812.

One prominent historian wrote, “No individual president can compare to the second Bush: Glib, contemptuous, ignorant, incurious, a dupe of anyone who humors his deluded belief in his heroic self, he has bankrupted the country with his disastrous war and his tax breaks for the rich, trampled on the Bill of Rights, appointed foxes in every henhouse, compounded the terrorist threat, turned a blind eye to torture and corruption and a looming ecological disaster, and squandered the rest of the world’s goodwill. In short, no other president’s faults have had so deleterious an effect on not only the country, but the world at large.” http://hnn.us/articles/48916.html

The Republican party backed this lame cowboy, I say it’s time the Republican party took responsibility for their actions. If you go to ShakeShock.com, there will be a link, demanding that the Republican party apologize for the past eight years of negligence, intolerance, and blatant stupidity. We the American people, demand an apology from the Republican Party, and from George W. Bush.

You can list whatever reason you want, but in a time when morality and ethics mean everything, the Republican party needs to show that when they make a mistake, they are responsible enough to admit it, completely and fully, without any reservation.

Forward this petition to your friends, your family, your colleagues, and show the Republican party that they have to show the true color of their character, and ask them, are they going to stand up, or are they going to kneel down, just so they can pander to the demons of our nature, rather than the angels in our hearts.

Sincerely,
The American People

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
