Amending Ontario Ombudsman Act To Include Ontario School Boards

To:  Dalton McGuinty, Premier Of Ontario

We, the undersigned, hereby petition Premier Dalton McGuinty to authorize The Ontario Ombudsman to investigate Complaints against School Boards.



Presently, the Ministry of Education policy has no authority over school boards, nor allowed to investigate any complaints of school boards. Ontario Special Needs children are falling through the cracks and being denied their legal right to education. Their needs to be accountability within the Ontario School Boards.



The Ontario Ombudsman’s Office has no jurisdiction to School Boards, yet Canadian Ombudsman in other provinces have this jurisdiction. Please amend the Ontario Ombudsman Act to include Ontario School Boards as it has been modernized in other Provinces.
