It has come to my attention that the RTM channel feed has been blurred for Singaporean viewers with this apparent statement being flashed across the screen:







"Please do not adjust your television set. Signal quality is inherent in the programme feed recieved by Starhub. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."







It is highly coincidental that the World Cup is around the corner, as the RTM channel will be displaying a few of the matches. Starhub has also been dispatching letters to customers to encourage them to sign up for their World Cup package, which we must PAY for.







This is totally outrageous and underhanded of Starhub, and my outrage will truly be fulfilled should this last till the end of the World Cup, and miraculously revert back to normal once the World Cup ends.







With our government encouraging sports and vying for a spot in the 2010 World Cup, such behavior is contradictory by preventing viewers who are not willing to pay from enjoying the thrill and excitement of the World Cup.







I hope that Starhub, in lieu of this petition revert the RTM channel back to normal, so that us viewers can not only watch some of the matches without having to pay for the outrageous fees of Starhub's World Cup package, and also enjoy the serials and programmes on the RTM channel as we did before.
