Increase Income Support for those Living with Mental Health Challenges

Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support programs are the main providers of income support for those with mental health challenges in Ontario and currently neither of these programs provides adequate support and neither was designed specifically to meet the needs of the this population. The government of Ontario has neglected the needs of those with mental health challenges and has left them out of the current Poverty Reduction Campaign.

We, the undersigned are calling on the government of Ontario to take action to increase publicly funded income support for those with mental health challenges.

We ask for an increase in the income support provided by Ontario Works and ODSP. We ask that a new and separate program be created to provide income support to this population.
