100% Renewable Energy at LSE |
To: The London School of Economics and Political ScienceWe, the undersigned, urge Sir Howard Davis to commit to converting to the use of 100% Renewable Energy on the Main Campus and in the Halls of Residence, in accordance with LSE's Environmental Policy .
This will be achieved by purchasing all remaining non- renewable electricity under the current CCL(Climate Change Levy) exempt Energy program contract, without any extra cost. Heating can be provided by combining solar panel instillation with the installation of CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Biomass generator. We also believe that any additional mitigation costs should be absorbed by a reduction in energy use and increased efficiency. We applaud the LSE for its current use of renewable electricity and would like to remain as London's Greenest University as tabulated in the People & Planet green university leagues.
