Save the Roding Valley Green |
To: Epping Forest District Council.DO NOT SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU HAVE SIGNED A PAPER VERSION.
We, the undersigned, most strongly object to the redevelopment of the triangle of land between the roads at the junction of Chestnut Anenue and Hornbeam Road in Buckhurst Hill, Essex (often known as 'Roding Valley Green') . Until the morning of Saturday, 6th May 2006, this natural collection of great trees (some in excess of 150 years old) and wild shrubs was a beutiful grteen area and an ornament to the local district. Together with the Parish Council, this has occasionally been maintained and be kept beautiful by the District Council, until now. It has now been destroyed by the new owner under the pretext of 'clearing the land and making it safe'. It was never unsafe. Quite apart from being Green Belt Land, this represented a tiny attraction of which in our section of the district, there are fewer and fewer, quite apart from a haven for wildlife, which enriches our parish. We ask for the District Council to assist us in restoring and keeping it. Please DON'T grant any planning permission for this site.Sincerely,
