Dear Mr. Benepe,
We, The Undersigned, are appalled that you made the decision to go ahead with plans to raize the old Yankee Stadium after the 2008 season. You should be ashamed that this decision will destroy the history and memories of the greatest baseball stadium of all time. Who could forget Lou Gerhig's "Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth" Speech on July 4, 1939, Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1955 World Series, THe Giants-Colts Championship game in 1958, Rockne's "Win One For The Gipper" speech in 1928, The Three Papal Masses, Reggie Jackson's 3 Home Runs in the 1977 World Series, not to mention the concerts, religious rallies, and other events that have graced the stadium since 1923?
Please seriously reconsider this needless action of tearing down The House that Ruth Built and entertain the though of making the old Yankee Stadium an National Historic Landmark!
Thank You, The UndersignedSincerely,
The Make the Old Yankee Stadium a National Landmark!
