Keep Swansea City's Shorts White |
To: Huw Jenkins & Swansea City FCWe the fans of Swansea City FC (the best team in Wales), demand that The Swans will always play their home games in our legendary all white kit.
We are dismayed at the kit supplier Umbro's blatant disregard for our proud tradition (which is, essentially, to "look a bit like Real Madrid"), and their new design of black shorts and black socks for the coming 2009-2010 season. To rub salt into the wound, the "missing" white shorts and socks have been included in the new red away kit, making us resemble England's 1966 World Cup winning side (a quick newsflash for Umbro here - this is a bad thing).
The solution seems simple enough - swap the shorts and socks on the home and away kits. Watching Swansea City play the last few seasons has been a dazzling experience for supporters and we want to see it continue with our all white strip, not some half-baked experiment that makes us look like Luton.
We will not boycott the new strip because we all love Swansea with a never-ending passion, but we feel the club should listen to our wishes on this matter.
KEEP THE STRIP ALL WHITE ALL RIGHT?!
PS - We also don't care that at some points in our "pre-war" history we wore black shorts; that's a rubbish excuse and you know it.Sincerely,
