Steve and Cassie Gaines Memorial

To:  City of Miami, Oklahoma

We the undersigned would like to see Steve and Cassie Gaines, members of the Lynyrd Skynyrd band killed in a plane crash October 20,1977, memorialized in their hometown of Miami, Oklahoma. A proposal was presented to the city leaders some time ago to name a street in their honor, however this proposal was rejected. Steve and Cassie were raised and educated in Miami and we feel they should recieve proper recognition for their acheivements.
