Keep Power to the SFU Surrey's Mezzanine floor outlets on at all times

SFU Surrey students would like to bring to the attention to SFU Surrey that the current procedures in managing resources in the mezzanine is not conducive in providing an environment for students where collaboration and learning is viable.

Current space and resources at SFU Surrey - in the form of tables, chairs, computers and group meeting spaces - do not meet the demand that is required of students here in SFU Surrey, and SIAT students in particular. Disconnecting the power to the one space on campus that is not either locked up or requires the use of a booking system at the end of the semester - when many SIAT projects are due - is unacceptable. In a program that is predicated on technology and collaboration, SFU Surrey and Facilities Management provides a disservice to students who want to excel in their work and studies when power to the mezzanine is cut off.

We, the undersigned, strongly request that SFU Surrey & Facilities Management keep electricity running to all the power outlets in the mezzanine throughout the year. This will provide all SFU students a basic resource that is required to complete their projects and studies in a manner that is to a satisfactory level.
