Former Chicago Bears Coach Mike Ditka is an example of a man who is a proven leader, a successful businessman and one who is very active in charity. Ditka was approached in 2006 to run for the Illinois Senate seat once held by Senator Jack Ryan. He was open minded to taking the job - but ended up declining to run because of some business obligations he had at the time. This seat is now being vacated by Barack Obama and there may even be a special election held for the seat early 2009. Ditka stated that he would be concerned about how he might handle himself in the Senate because of his temper. By God – someone with a temper is exactly what we NEED out there!

Too many in Congress and the Senate are there for the wrong reasons. Some want to be a part of the most exclusive club on Earth. Some go there to enrich themselves. Some are there because they want to some day be President. We need people like Mike Ditka in the Senate because he doesn't covet the job and will not placate the many power hungry parasites in Washington.

Sign this petition to help persuade Coach Mike Ditka to enter the race for Barack Obama’s former Senate seat - whether there is a special election held in 2009 or when the term is up in 2010.
