Small Breed Dog Run

PETITION FOR A SMALL DOG PARK IN THE CITY OF CHARLESTON AT HAZEL PARKER PARK





The Charleston Small Dogs Playgroup is petitioning the City of Charleston to include a specific area designated for small breed dogs only at the future dog run located at Hazel Parker Park in Downtown Charleston. Off-leash areas for dogs are a valuable community resource for dog owners and non dog owners alike, and should be safe areas for dogs to play. However, dog runs which do not have an area for small dogs to play are discrimminating and not considering the safety of the small dogs. These off-leash areas are safe for large breed dogs, but not for small breed dogs. Large dogs can inadvertently injure smaller dogs while attempting to play, or may play too roughly for the small dogs.





Please assist us in our plea for a specific area for small dogs only at the Hazel Parker Park. Sign our petition for a safe haven for small dogs! Small dogs deserve safe playgrounds too!
