Solar Energy at UM

We strongly support the installation of solar energy infrastructure at the University of Miami. Installing infrastructure to utilize solar energy at the University of Miami is the best way to reduce the University’s carbon footprint and to champion a global effort to mitigate climate change. Installing a solar water heating system at The Herbert Wellness Center would significantly reduce the Center’s natural gas consumption, preventing thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide currently being released into the atmosphere. Additionally, by installing a photovoltaic system on the Bank United Center’s roof, a significant amount of truly clean electricity could be produced for years to come.
