We, the members and supporters of the Birth Action Coalition are protesting the recent ban of certified nurse midwives at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, California. We demand the following:

1.That St. Johns administrators immediately reinstate privileges for all CNMs at Pleasant Valley Hospital, or,

2.That St. Johns administrators provide evidence supporting their statements that the CNMs have been removed from the Camarillo facility due to patient safety (we ask that this evidence show outcomes for all care providers who have attended births at Pleasant Valley Hospital), or

3.That St. Johns administrators retract their claims that the midwifery ban is due to patient safety.
