We the undersigned insist that both local and state law enforcement use a digital photographic speed gun. Thousands of drivers each year are wrongfully accused of speeding. The only proof of speeding presented to the judge is a speed gun text printout that does not identify the vehicle of which is accused. An officer cannot be 100 percent sure the target vehicle was in fact the one the radar detected. A digital photographic speed gun is a definitive way of providing proof that the accused vehicle was in fact the one speeding. This technology is already used in unmanned locations and can easily be transformed into a portable vehicle unit. With the digital photographic speed gun an officer can print out the photograph in the patrol car before approaching the accused vehicle and offer it as proof. This will hopefully end the wrongful ticketing of innocent people.
