Spike TV, a division of MTV Networks, is currently available in 98 million homes. Since 2008, Spike TV has been available in HD in participating areas. This offering was widely applauded by Spike TV fans when it was announced, and many of us have waited patiently for the Spike TV HD channel to be made available in our area.

As a Spike TV fan and someone who lives in the area serviced by Service Electric Cablevision, I was disappointed to find that while Spike TV is available as part of your lineup, it is still not available in HD. This especially frustrating considering that many other channels -- the Food Network, A&E, The History Channel, Syfy, FX, and even the Weather Channel! -- are all offered both in standard definition and HD as part of your basic digital lineup.

We, the undersigned, are writing to request that Service Electric Cablevision provide Spike TV in HD as part of your standard HD lineup. We further request that you make this available at no additional charge for digital cable subscribers, as you do for channels like TNT, TBS, TLC, E!, Bravo and many others. If you fail to accommodate our request, please know that each of us will each be forced to reevaluate whether Service Electric is being the kind of responsive, service-oriented provider that we expect given the considerable cost of your cable services. Please also consider that if you are unwilling or unable to accommodate this request, DirecTV may become a more attractive option to your customers, as they currently offer Spike TV in HD at no additional charge for digital subscribers.
