Condemning Surrey City Canada for Hosting an Iraq War Criminal, Tony Blair!!

The government of Surrey City in BC, Canada under Mayor Dianne Watts has invited Mr. Tony Blair, the former British Prime Minister, to speak in a forum attended by Surrey business community called Surrey Regional Economic Summit on October 6, 2009. This event is also co-organized by Surrey Board of Trade under the leadership of Mr. Inde Sumal.

As it is widely known, Tony Blair and his partner, George Bush, the former US president, are both war criminals. They masterminded the invasion Iraq in March 2003 on the basis of false evidence on Iraq weapons of mass destruction. As a direct result of their actions, hundred of thousands Iraqi civilians, many of them are women and children have been massacred by US and UK armed forces. Mr. Blair's action has led to the destruction of the entire Iraq nation and this clearly constitutes an act of war crime. The killings and displacement of thousand of Iraqi people are still happening up today.

Therefore, by inviting him, the City of Surrey and Surrey Board of Trade have endorsed the brutal act of crime against humanity conducted by Mr. Blair. As a Surrey resident, I am really ashamed with this very irresponsible decision. Mayor Dianne Watts and Mr. Inde Sumal have badly destroyed the image of Surrey as a nice place to live by hosting a war criminal and legitimizing his crimes. There is absolutely nothing that Mr. Blair can offer to Surrey business community other than committing act of terrorism.

For all Surrey residents and anyone who care about social justice, we must take actions to prevent this war criminal for coming to Surrey:

7. Create and put posters and flyers and in many Surrey's public places, like streets, bus stations, malls, etc to make Surrey residents aware about this issue.

8. Write letters Surrey business communities to boycott the summit where Mr. Blair will speak. Some major sponsors of this event include RBC, Terrasen Gas and Surrey Board of Trade.

9. If none of those above can sway the City’s decision, then stage protests on the day when Mr. Blair shows up.
