**Whereas the American Civil Liberties Union, better known as the ACLU, currently seeks to undermine U.S. policy and security by suing the United States government to allow foreigners to America who are alleged to have ties to terrorist groups, two of them being Adam Habib and Tariq Ramadan.

**Whereas the ACLU has gone to court to hold that terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba are entitled to U.S. lawyers and not be declared as enemy combatants as historically previous war policies dictated.

**Whereas the U.S. Pentagon permitted ACLU lawyers to observe U.S. interrogations of terrorists held onsite at Guantanamo Bay and have access to such individuals.

**Whereas the ACLU has sought to interfere with federal law by suing to block the U.S. government from requiring employers to verify Social Security numbers of their employees and ensure that those here illegally are not on their payrolls, a suit reasonable individuals could view as one forcing an abandonment of U.S. immigration law and potentially putting Americans at risk of anything from petty crime to terrorism.

**Whereas the ACLU has clogged our courtrooms with endless lawsuits to block any and all city, county, state and federal laws curbing illegal aliens from crossing our borders, policies that not only serve (that is, when enforced) to keep illegal border crossers out of the United States but terrorists and other criminals as well.

**Whereas the ACLU has sued countless cities (most prominently, Hazleton PA) and counties for restricting employment, housing accommodations and welfare and other benefits to those residing here illegally, thus encouraging the breaking of our laws.

**Whereas we have previously requested the U.S. Justice Dept. to investigate the ACLU as a criminal enterprise for its long sordid history of defending pornography and all forms of deviancy at every turn without restriction.

**Whereas Congressman Albert Herlong of Florida on January 10th, 1963, almost 45 years ago, entered into the Congressional Record a list of 45 goals American Communists seek to obtain.

**Whereas numerous goals in the Congressional Record, if not all but most definitely including the following, are in some way synonymous with the ACLU of today:

1. Providing American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
2. Doing away with all loyalty oaths.
3. Using technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
4. Getting control of the schools. Using them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda……Getting control of teachers' associations.
5. Using student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
6. Breaking down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
7. Presenting homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
8. Infiltrating the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discrediting the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
9. Eliminating prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
10. Supporting any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture - education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
11. Discrediting and eventually dismantling the FBI.
12. Transferring some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treating all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.
13. Discrediting the family as an institution. Encouraging promiscuity and easy divorce.
14. Emphasizing the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attributing prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
15. Creating the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems

**Whereas the above goals and ACLU actions are not only contrary to the values of millions of patriotic God-fearing Americans but serve as a means of making America a degenerate, immoral and defeatist nation unwilling to protect and defend its heritage and the traditions that have made her the greatest country on earth.

And whereas the ACLU has a stealthy history of covering up its questionable activities from public purview so that it appears accountable to no one and by and large refuses to meet or correspond with the American people as to its actions and agenda.

WE THE PEOPLE insist that our elected officials in the United States Senate as well as the U.S. House of Representatives conduct an exhaustive investigation of the ACLU, to subpoena its officers, lawyers, employees, state directors and any other members of its staff, either from its national offices or state chapters or both, as Congress may deem necessary, and hold hearings as to whether the ACLU is not only a criminal enterprise but an organization sympathetic to terrorist causes and one that by its policies, associations and actions, poses grave risks to our national security and to the safety of the American people.

We believe that if Congress fails to act with regards to these measures, it will clearly demonstrate that the ACLU is beyond public scrutiny, that no government entity has the power nor will to place checks on it and that it has unlimited power to unleash its agenda and policies through the U.S. court system, especially in courts more sympathetic to it and with judges who may be card carrying members of this organization. Therefore, we strongly urge Congress to begin its investigation of the ACLU without delay and release its findings to the American people at the very earliest possible opportunity.
