We the undersigned

- note with concern the decision of The Police Service of Northern Ireland to seek a court order compelling journalist Suzanne Breen to disclose information relating to her reporting of dissident republican terrorist activities.

- agree that such an order would put investigative reporting and reporters at risk.

- believe this could deter people with information about wrong doing coming forward to journalists and hinder the pursuit of justice in the future.

- support Suzanne Breen in defending her right to maintain the confidentiality of source material.
