Terminator Salvation ending rewrite

The Terminator Salvation script that leaked a few months back contained some great ideas that were unfortunately negated by a terrible ending, probably seen by the studio as a “bold” conclusion – if not a cheap shocker/twist – aimed at the casual moviegoer.

The loyal fans following the saga for almost twenty-five years will be treated with [SPOILERS! Read at your own risks!!!] an appalling fate for one of the major characters being reportedly replaced by a robot, impersonating him/her thanks to surgery for the two following movies. This is not only an flagrant display of misunderstanding of the whole Terminator saga and its themes, it is also an insult to the loyal fans who paid faithfully their ticket throughout the years and were expected to do so for three more sequels.

Those ideas are terrible ground for a healthy new trilogy and show nothing but contempt for the audience lured into theatres by the promise of a follow-up to an existing mythology and not a revisionist, meaningless nonsense.

This petition is aimed at the creative team behind the movie. Be it the writers, the director, the studio executives… We request a rewrite so the hero won’t be short-changed in favour of a lousy twist ending. Thanks in advance for not ruining what looks otherwise like an exciting trilogy.
