IMMEDIATE INTERV ENTION TO STOP SRI LANKAN GENOCIDAL WAR

STOP Sri Lanka from KILLING TAMILS(genocide) immediately.

How the international community is blindfolded by the Sri Lankan government, while it carries out a premeditated and systematic genocide and ethnic cleansing of the innocent Tamil civilians in the North and the East of Sri Lanka, is due to LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA SUPPRESSION prior to the start of the killings. All the international humanitarian agencies, including International Red Cross, and media personalities were ordered to leave from the North and East of the country, predominantly Tamil areas, prior to start killing scores of innocent Tamil civilians by using heavy multi barrel artilleries, banned aerial chemical and cluster bombs on civilian houses, hospitals, schools, churches, temples and refugee camps inside the government declared safe zone. Anyone leaks the information will be handled with lethal treatment or threatened with 20 years to life imprisonment(I was told during a phone conversation to a Tamil in Colombo, Sri Lanka). These kinds of acts in other parts of the world were always exposed before or when it took place and they were stopped timely by the international intervention. In Sri Lanka, it is the opposite to the rest of the Democratic world. Ever since British handed over the power to the majority dominated government, in imposed prolonged, total discrimination on the Tamils and it has escalated to a point where GENOCIDE AND ETHNIC CLEANSING of the Tamils not only get unnoticed to the international community but its involvements got interrupted by the major sponsor of this murderous regime, the neighboring India, which loves to show off its domination in the Indian ocean, ruthlessly. While Indian-Tamil fishermen were tortured and murdered by the Sri Lankan navy in the midst of this genocide in Sri Lanka, Indian government neglected to take any action against Sri Lanka. Until the Tamil Nadu(Madras) politicians raised their voices against the central government of India it did nothing, and eventually the judging for the vengeful act was given at the hands of the murderous Sri Lankan forces. It clearly exemplifies the gross hate ness of the Indian central government against the Tamils overall.
International community needs to apply pressure on Sri Lankan government to let the international media into the so called war zone as well as to demand to stop the killings immediately. Delaying a day, costs over hundreds unarmed and innocent civilian deaths. It also should seek punishment against the Sri Lankan president and his co-rulers, in the court of law for their war crimes, prior to another ruthless, criminal ruler do the same in the other part of the world. In reality it is not a war but a government sponsored mass murder-spree of Tamil civilians, mass rape of innocent Tamil women and children and a systematic ethnic cleansing of Tamils by the majority ruled government.
If the government wanted to live with the Tamils peacefully and in harmony it wouldn't be killing the civilians daily, continuously and tell the world it has been wiping out terrorists:
Murderous Rajapakse... unborn Tamil babies were not terrorists, our elderly grandparents were not terrorists, our sisters and cousins carrying babies in their arms were not terrorists, our priests and all other Tamil clergies were not terrorists, our health care providers were not terrorists, our journalists who out cried for our rights were not terrorists, living in our own home peacefully with our basic rights is not terrorism. Where are they and what did you do to them Mr.Rajapakse; you are a coward(killing unarmed civilians?). Isn't what you are doing an ethnic cleansing and genocide? Let the international media into the country and learn the meaning of real love and peace to live with Tamils. You and your co-rulers will realize what you've lost-LOVE OF THE REAL HUMAN BEINGS. .
We, as a Tamil community seek the international pressure unconditionally to stop the GENOCIDE AND ETHNIC CLEANSING of Tamils in Sri Lanka. We want to have fair media infiltration into the North, North East and the East of Sri Lanka to expose the true nature of the WAR(World Against Rajapakse).

In a press release issued Sunday, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils (APPG-T) said that the "final onslaught" in the safe zone by the Sri Lanka Government will result in "carnage if unimaginable magnitude," and appealed to "Her Majesty's Government, NGOs, and Governments around the world, to act immediately to prevent this devastation."

Several civilians were killed and more than 200, wounded in Sri Lanka Army (SLA) shelling and gunfire, have been admitted at Mu'l'li-vaaykkaal hospital in the early hours of Monday as the SLA opened fire from its positions attempting to advance further into the densely populated so-called safety zone (No Fire Zone) from 3:30 a.m. Monday. Heavy exchange of gunfire continued and civilians were forced to stay inside the bunkers as rounds were whizzing over them. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) bombers carried out two sorties of air raids in the morning, according to latest reports from Vanni. The aggression by the SLA comes a few hours after Sri Lanka rejected LTTE announced unilateral ceasefire.

Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) fighter jets bombed Sunday the so-called safety zone where tens of thousands of civilians have sought refuge at least 39 times in six sorties so far on Sunday. The indiscriminate bombardment by the Sri Lankan state has been intensified despite the call from the White House on Saturday to stop attacking the 'safety zone' and to stop the fighting immediately. Exact casualty details were not available at the moment. Heavy bombardment by SLAF bombers has caused panic and tension among the civilians, who are facing imminent starvation as Colombo has blocked the shipment of humanitarian supplies facilitated by the ICRC.

SLA cluster bombs kill doctor, medical staff at Valaignarmadam

A doctor at the makeshift hospital in Valaignarmadam and several other medical staff including civilians were killed Tuesday afternoon when Sri Lanka Army (SLA) fired cluster bombs on them, TamilNet correspondent in Vanni said citing a fleeing patient who escaped from the attack.

The slain doctor was Siva Manoharan. Dr. Siva Manhoharan had refused to flee as he was focused on serving the civilians as casualties were mounting due to indiscriminate shelling by the SLA.

A 20-days old baby succumbed to injuries of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) shelling on Sunday in the makeshift hospital at Puthumaaththa'lan within the safety zone. Recently, a pregnant mother whose abdomen was torn open and in the condition of the hand of the foetus coming out was admitted to the hospital, after the SLA shelling. Meanwhile, as a result of the food shortage, children were seen standing in a long queue to receive gruel from a distribution centre run by the Tamils Rehabilitation Organisation on the Easter Sunday noon. The photos published here are self explanatory, but we caution readers of their strong content.

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) stepped up artillery and mortar barrage on Valaignarmadam Wednesday killing and maiming civilians who have sought refuge at several locations. Rev Father James Pathinathar, a prominent Catholic priest was injured in SLA shelling that hit the Church in Valaignarmadam Wednesday noon, initial reports said.

Congress functionary Sirkazhi (Cheerkaazhi) Ravichandran, a 47-year-old father of two children, immolated himself Saturday to protest his party's inaction on the Eelam Tamils issue. He succumbed to hundred percent burn injuries and died a short while later at 3:45 p.m. Two days earlier, he had an altercation with the Union Minister Mani Shanker Aiyar blaming the Congress party for failing to stop the war in Sri Lanka. He had also told a couple of his friends about his decision in order to bring about a change in the attitude of the Congress.

Indian journalist burns himself to death condemning Indian inaction

A young Tamil activist burnt himself to death in front of the Shastri Bhavan, the Indian Central Government's Chennai Head office Thursday, reports from Chennai said. The activist, Mr. Muthukumar, from Thooththukkudi, who works for Pe'n'nea Nee feminist magazine as typist and also writes articles, doused himself with petrol and set himself afire, condemning the futile visit by Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who failed to stop the war in Sri Lanka and save Eezham Tamils.

No food shipment was sent to the safety zone after 02 April. Even the earlier supplies were pathetically inadequate. The World Food Programme (WFP) shipment that already set sailing with 1,500 MT food items and was scheduled to arrive in Mu’l’li-vaaykkaal has been diverted to Jaffna in the last minute by the Colombo government, citing ‘security reasons’, civil officials inside the zone told TamilNet Saturday. People starve beyond imagination, subsisting just on fish and prawns caught amidst high risk of SLA attack and eating them semi-raw, roasted in fire, as there is no cooking oil.

. There were at least 20 Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) attack crafts, which engaged in firing towards civilians along the coast and damaging boats, TamilNet correspondent in the safety zone reported Saturday.

Around 165,000 civilians are staying concentrated in the safety zone, according to a press statement issued by the LTTE political division, Friday.

Colombo bombarded safety zone 25 times in four sorties on Saturday.
