Dear Residents of Virginia:

I'm starting this petition to help bring some of the largest over-the-air television networks and their affiliates to the Capital City of Richmond and the surrounding counties in Central Virginia.

Recently in mid-November 2007, a television station, WZTD, became a Telemundo affiliate. It was and still is the first and currently the only station in Central Virginia to broadcast in a different language (spanish). By signing this petition, it may help bring some full-time, over-the-air, spanish-language television networks such as Univision, Telefutura, and Azteca America. Also help bring both ImaginAsian & Asia Vision network affiliates to the Asian community, plus it will help bring full-time religious networks such as Tri-State Christian Television's "Total Christian Television" (TCT), and Christian Television Network (CTN). Richmond is the largest market (that I know of) without an ION network affiliate (formerly known as PAX TV [1998-2005] & i: Independent Television [2005-2007]), but by signing this petition right now, I guarantee you, it will help bring an ION Television affiliate. The ten top major TV markets the Nielsen Media Research's DMA ranked, ranging from New York City, New York to Houston, Texas have most of the major TV networks in their markets, why can't Richmond. Currently the market is ranked #59.
