Truth and Reconcile Committee

We in Sri Lanka have a conflict since independent. We had two JVP youth upraise which killed hundred of thousands of our youths. Then we had the Tamils armed struggle.

Here we are not arguing which is correct or which is wrong. We are thinking of moving forward and future of Sri Lanka. We just can’t say that everything is solved and terrorism is defeated to move forward. We had problems even before LTTE was born in Sri Lanka. Sinhala youth took arms under new and old Constitution. We never thought to rectify the root cause.

We faced a war. Basically war means two sites involve. If we want to move our country forward, we first need to rectify the wounds of the war. I humbly request all the responsible people in Sri Lanka to request a truth and reconciliation council as a first point to move forward.

We people undersign this petition, request all major parties to take action on this. Also we ask all major political parties to encourage this move so that more people can sign this petition.
