Sub: Tax Exemption to Charitable and Religious Institutions

Heard the shocking news that Finance Ministry of Government is planning to charge the Religious / Charitable Institutions, with Additional Tax on Gupt Daan. (ie. Charity without Name disclosed)
The logic behind this is given that this is the means to stop circulation of Black Money in the Country. This is totally wrong way of stopping it where the main defect is in the Tax collection Department of the country who is not capable of catching the circulation of Black Money.
History says that at the time of every natural calamity and Man made Disasters, religious and charitable institutions are the first and foremost to come running for the welfare of effected people. (Perhaps even before Government officials reach there, the local religious and charitable trusts and NGO’s are first to reach the effected place). It’s not fair to impose tax to such helping hands and give the grants to slaughter houses and other industries which harm the country environmentally, socially, ecologically, biologically, etc.
I feel regretted knowing that citizens of independent India are required to file petitions EXEMPTING donations from levy of Income Tax.
In modern India, which does not have any comprehensive policy for social security, charitable organizations are the only supportive base for needy people.
I firmly believe that the Government shall not only exempt these institutions but also give substantial positive incentives to them.
Please think on above matters before taking decisions and saving the nation from such laws.
