Dear PetitionOnline.com,
I have recently been directed to one of your other petitions, the "Change the Name of 'The Two Towers'" petition. I would like to petition to you to ban the IP addresses of all those who are in favor of that petition. They are not contributing anything to your community except for uninformed and biased opinions.

First of all, as it CLEARLY states at the top of the page, "The Two Towers" was published in 1954, 47 years prior to the attacks, and thus the title could not have been drawn from 9-11.

Secondly, what is society coming to? Are we trying to erase all evidence that the twin towers ever existed? Should we, perhaps, go through all media and remove photos, videos, or references to the towers? No. The towers were a symbol of America... not the only symbols, but two of them. We should proudly remember how they stood and what they did throughout the years. While it is true that they were destroyed by an act of cowardice, this does NOT mean that all things pertaining to them should be erased. Let them stay in our memory; you may grieve over their loss, but do not take action against something that might bear reference to them, albeit by mistake.

Thirdly, how does the story of "The Two Towers" refer at all to the events of 9-11? In the book, it is Good versus Evil. Iit does not focus on the Towers (Minas Tirith, the good tower, and Barad-Dur, the dark tower); instead, it focuses on the exploits and adventures of two groups of people, both of them on the side of good. For more elaboration, simply read the book. If you sight any other connections between the book and the real life events (aside from the good versus evil), please tell me.

If you are one of the people who has signed that petition, you are either a very biased and uninformed individual or a psychopath. The two things have nothing in common aside from the name (actually, WTC 1&2 were more often referred to as the "twin towers"). Learn about the facts before you make yourself heard, lest you give a one-sided opinion.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
