We the undersigned support the formation of the Ethiopian Diaspora Conflict Resolution Committee (EDCRC) to bring about closure to the rift that has developed within the Kinijit International Leadership.
We are resolved that a divided movement adds to the dysfunction of the struggle to oust the EPRDF dictatorship and undermines the sacrifices the Ethiopian People and its leaders have paid and continue to pay in the service of Democracy, Human Rights and the Rule of law.
We therefore appeal to the Kinijit International Leadership to submit to this process of resolving differences as set out below:
The factions to appoint a three person Ethiopian Diaspora Conflict Resolution Committee (EDCRC), that shall be headed by a person acceptable to both sides.
The selected individual will nominate two more individuals to sit on the committee subject to the approval of the factions.
These shall be joined by three representatives from each side to plead their case to the committee.
In order to make this feasible both parties come to the table agreeing to be bound by the decisions of the arbitration team.
A total restructuring of the chapter formation process, including the selection by the chapters of the International Support Group Leadership;
The EDCRC makes its recommendations and findings known to the public unless both sides, upon reconciliation, decide against disclosure.
