On April 16, 2007 the nation suffered a tragedy that will forever shape colleges and universities across the United States. Early that morning a lone gunman opened fire in West Ambler Johnston Hall and Norris Hall killing 32 people before ultimately turning the gun on himself. This day will be remembered as the deadliest mass shooting in US History. In honor of the victims, the families, the Virginia Tech University Campus, Blacksburg, Virginia, and the nation this petition is to ask that all flags on April 16, 2008 be flown at half-mast.
