We the undersigned OPPOSE the proposed Montrose/Clarendon mega-development, including the 39-story skyscraper (498 feet tall), the 30-story skyscraper (407 feet tall), the private condos on Clarendon Park, the giant parking garage, and the other buildings and commercial facilities to be jammed into this very small space. We OPPOSE the zoning ordinance changes which would allow this development to be built, and we OPPOSE the enlargement of the existing Maryville planned development for the Lakeview Station planned development in the proposed Montrose/Clarendon TIF.

We feel that the proposed development provides no community benefit in return for a large giveaway to the developers, and would in fact harm the community. It is at least ten times larger in scale than the surrounding buildings and would overshadow and dwarf the contiguous residential and small-business areas. Parking would become much more difficult and traffic backups much worse. It is out of character with Uptown's Clarendon Park and Buena Park neighborhoods and with the vision of the majority of Uptown residents.
