To:  US Congress, State Governors

We hold that all citizens licensed to carry a weapon should be allowed to carry their weapon on university campuses.

1. Every individual has the right and responsibility to defend himself against unjustified threats of death or serious bodily injury.

2. The Constitution of the United States guarantees the right of individuals to keep and bear arms.

3. Criminals are not deterred by rules, regulations, and laws forbidding the possession of weapons – a man bent on mass murder will not be stopped by a rule forbidding him to have a gun.

4. Criminals have guns – good citizens need guns to defend themselves.

5. The recent tragedy at Virginia Tech exemplifies our case in point. Cho took weapons where weapons were "forbidden" and killed 31 innocent bystanders. A single lawfully armed student could have saved their lives.

For the foregoing reasons, we citizens of the United States affirm and assert that all citizens licensed to carry concealed weapons should be allowed to carry their weapons on university campuses in order to defend themselves and other innocent citizens.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
