Virginia Law Enforcement Agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

To:  Governor, Commonwealth of Virginia

We, the undersigned, urge Governor Timothy M. Kaine of the Commonwealth of Virginia to direct the State Police, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Virginia Department of Corrections to enter into agreements with the Federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enforce violations of federal immigration laws while performing their state law enforcement functions. By continuing to ignore the effects of illegal immigration on the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia, we believe the Governor is jeopardizing the safety and security of citizens and other legal residents of the Commonwealth.
