Dear Blizzard Developers,

We, the undersigned World of Warcraft players, are requesting that your change the meta-achievement for the "Fool For love" achievement so that it no longer includes the "Be Mine" sub-achievement.

Our reasoning is as follows:

1) You have in the past acknowledged that the dependancy on the Random Number Generator for Meta-achievements to be unacceptable. You confirmed this when you removed the "Mask for all Occasions" sub-achievement from the "Hallowed be Thy Name" meta-achievement. You also acknowledged this when you removed the "Perma-Peddle" from the "Fool for Love" achievement. While these examples are not all inclusive of your past acknowledgment, it did set a precedent that your user community now expects. Blizzard acknowledged that pure "luck" should not be part of the Meta-Achievement process by doing these listed actions.

2) The actual "Be Mine" sub-achievement is flawed in that it relies upon the Random Number Generator inside of another Random Number Generator. This presents the definitive possibility of no matter how hard one might try, to fail. There was no mechanism to provide a backup path to finish the achievement should their "luck" prove bad. Other achievements mitigated the luck element by providing in game tradable items. Furthermore other achievements that did rely on the Random Number Generator provided for other means to mitigate the "luck" factor. For Example: The aquisition of the Brew Fest mount was easily mitigated by bringing in additional characters to increase the number of attempts a character could participate in each day.

3) The limited time of the event further increased the odds of failure.

4) Your developers acknowledged a problem with this achievement when they increased the drop rate of the "Candy Bags".

We recognize that Blizzard desires the Violet Proto-Drake to be an achievement that only the most dedicated of players achieve. To this end we are targeting this petition to characters that match the following criteria

1) The character was level 80 during the "Love is in the Air" event. Our reasoning for this is that the only way to get this achievement is to have been able to enter Naxxramas.

2) The character is already a member of the "Brew of the Month Club" and has all the currently brew credit in the achievement listed below:

a) Wild Winter Pilsner
b) Lord of Frost's Private Label
c) Izzard's Ever Flavor
d) Barlett's Bitter Brew
e) Autumnal Acorn Ale

3) The character completed all the other achievements for the "Fool for Love" Meta-Achievement listed below:

a) Heartmender
b) Shafted
c) Flirt With Disaster
d) Lonely?
e) Nearest and Dearest
f) The Rocket's Pink Glare
g) Nation of Adoration
h) Fistful of Love
i) Sweet Tooth
j) My love is like a Red, Red Rose
k) I Pitied the Fool

4) The character has completed the other season events to date listed below:

a) To Honor Ones Elders
b) Merry Maker
c) Hallowed be Thy Name


We contend that characters that have completed all the above criteria indeed match the goal of only the "most dedicated" players should be eligible for this achievement. We do not beleive that removing this achievement from the requirement will in anyway cheapen the aquistion of the Violet Proto-Drake.

Not everyone who signs this petition will have a character thats meet this criteria, but agree in principal with the core belief set forth in the document and support the change that we are requesting.


It is with high hopes that Blizzard listens to its user community on this issue and responds appropriately.
